Below T*, EuAl4 develops a charge density wave (CDW), which breaks the inversion symmetry. Below 20 K, this CDW coexists with an antiferromagnetic (AF) order in which skyrmions, an exotic magnetic texture, have been observed. The formation of skyrmions is possibly permitted by the breaking of the inversion symmetry. The centrosymmetric system EuGa4 is isostructural with EuAl4 and is also antiferromagnetic at ambient pressure; however, the CDW develops only under pressure, possibly this CDW breaks the inversion symmetry and open the formation of skyrmions. EuGa4 offers a unique platform for studying the interplay between AF and CDW. Our aim is to identify the modulation wave vector q and establish the symmetry of the modulated phase.
Furthermore, we will examine how the modulation evolves with respect to pressure and temperature. We will also investigate whether the CDW could induce inversion symmetry breaking, which could lead to the formation of skyrmions.
