Study of two OpenFOAM-based liquid-metal magnetohydrodynamics solvers, mhdFoam and epotFoam, and a two solvers in the MOOSE-based application Proteus. OpenFOAM studies cover parallel scaling (strong and weak) of mhdFoam and epotFoam, and validation of mhdFoam and epotFoam against the Shercliff and Hunt analytic solutions for Hartmann numbers of Ha=20, 100 and 1000. Proteus studies cover evaluation of different preconditioners for two methods known as the Kernel method and the Material method, as well as validation of both methods against the Shercliff and Hunt analytic solutions for Ha=20.
