Illumina sequencing-based metagenomic study of micorbial community for a forested subalpine watershed

Forested subalpine watersheds are ecologically important to C cycling. However, little is known about the composition of the microbial communities in this important ecosystem or how these microbial communities relate to environmental factors and environmental fluxes of carbonaceous gases. The goal of this study is to characterize the microbial communities in a subalpine forest watershed in central Montana (Stringer Creek drainage in Tenderfoot Creek Experimental Forest) and investigate their spatial correlation with environmental factors and carbonaceous gas distribution (CO2 and CH4)
