Contract Intensity of National Economies (CINE), Version April-2023

The Contract Intensity of National Economies (CINE) dataset seeks to gauge the institutionalization of contract flows in countries that require third-party enforcement. Data are available for 87.8 percent of country-years of 150 non-micro countries identified as sovereign by the Correlates of War (COW) project from 1960 to 2019, and 76.4 percent of country-years of these 150 countries from 1816 to 2019.
