The diversity of strongylid nematodes in mountain gorillas was assessed by metabarcoding the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region. Following extraction of fecal metagenomic DNA, amplicon libraries were generated using a two-step PCR approach and then sequenced on an Illumina MiSeq (300 bp paired-end reads).
