The Bat Virome Archives v1.0 is a curated dataset of 1,011 bat-associated metagenomic samples compiled from 44 publicly available BioProjects (Illumina sequencing). All datasets were processed through a unified workflow including quality control, trimming, assembler-aware reconstruction, dereplication, and clustering. The archive contains: Non-redundant contigs (>500 bp) from all assemblies Viral, bacterial, archaeal, eukaryotic, and unclassified (“dark matter”) subsets Viral taxonomy and quality assessments (geNomad, DIAMOND, CheckV) Read count matrices and assembly statistics Consolidated metadata for samples and host bat species (IUCN status, traits, ecological data) This dataset enables large-scale comparative virome analysis, novel virus discovery, benchmarking of bioinformatic tools, and ecological inference of host–virus relationships.
