**Description**: This project investigates the differential gene expression in arterial tissues from three distinct regions (aorta, mesenteric, and pulmonary arteries) of Wistar rats, emphasizing the comparison of vessels of varying orders (1st to 4th for mesenteric, 1st and 2nd for pulmonary arteries). The regulation of blood vessel diameter, essential for controlling blood pressure, is influenced by the complex interplay of various tissue components. The use of animal tissue models in vascular function research and drug response analysis has revealed significant regional and size-dependent variations in tissue behavior. This study aims to elucidate the molecular distinctions across tissues from different arterial regions and of different sizes, particularly focusing on the components that influence contraction and relaxation. By analyzing RNA from 40 rats across 8 groups and 28 contrasts, we seek to identify key differences in gene expression profiles that could explain the varied responses to pharmacological treatments observed in different parts of the vascular system. This research not only contributes to our understanding of arterial tissue function but also aims to uncover potential targets for the treatment of hypertension and other vascular disorders, thereby addressing the variability seen in experimental outcomes and advancing our capacity to control blood pressure in disease states.
