A Large-scale Dataset of Scholarly References on Podcasts via Podchaser and Altmetric with mentions dated up to November 30, 2025

Data source We collected podcast-related mentions with the shared collection window restricted to mentions dated on or before November 30, 2025. We constructed the dataset by integrating two complementary sources: 1. Altmetric Explorer (Altmetric.com). We queried Altmetric Explorer by setting the mention source to All Podcasts and exported all matched records. 2. Podchaser (podcast search engine/database). We searched Podchaser with the search target set to Episodes using exact-match queries, where each of the 26 target domains listed below was enclosed in double quotes. For each retrieved episode, we extracted external links from the episode description (show notes), filtered them to retain only those matching the target domains, and manually mapped each eligible link to its corresponding DOI.
