资源简介:
Nanopore long-read sequencing was performed on samples collected from 5 urban beaches and 5 island beaches, located in Icoaraci, Outeiro, and Cotijuba, in the city of Belem, Para, Brazil. All samples were sequenced using the Promethion P2 Solo system. The primary aim of this study was to assess the impact of anthropogenic activity on beaches subjected to high levels of human disturbance compared to those in more conserved environments, located on an island near the capital, Belem. Given the significant anthropogenic pressures faced by the urban beaches, which are influenced by factors such as industrial and domestic waste, the study sought to understand the ecological consequences on microbial communities, including potential alterations in biodiversity, the presence of antibiotic resistance, and the contamination by pollutants. This research holds considerable relevance, as it is the first of its kind in the northern region of Brazil. It provides crucial insights into the effects of human-induced environmental changes on coastal ecosystems, specifically focusing on the microbial dynamics within these habitats. The findings from this study are expected to contribute to the broader understanding of anthropogenic impacts on marine and coastal microbiomes, offering valuable data regarding pollution, antibiotic resistance, and disturbances within microbial communities in these ecosystems.
