Root system control of shoot system phenotypic variation over the grapevine growing season

This study surveys the impact of root system genotype on shoot system phenotypes over three time points in the season. Samples were collected from an experimental vineyard containing the French-American hybrid cultivar growing ungrafted (own-rooted) and grafted to three rootstocks: 1103P, 3309C, and SO4. Gene expression was measured on young leaves at anthesis, veraison, and immediately prior to harvest.
