VPRS 10788 Protected Persons' Deeds [DESTROYED 2000]

This series consists of boxes of envelopes containing the deeds of Protected Persons (those unable through mental illness or infirmity unable to administer their own estates) which were not returned to them or to beneficiaries if they died. Deeds was the name given by the Office to any documents or even valuable personal possessions (such as watches, wedding rings and other jewellery) belonging to a deceased person or protected person whose estate was to be administered by the Public Trustee. Documents could include bank passbooks, Certificates of Title, insurance policies and other papers. The contents of these envelopes consist entirely of documents.Each envelope is marked with the name of the person to whom the documents belonged.
