Age-dependent transcriptome characterization of the rat supraoptic nucleus (RNA-Seq)

Our prior studies indicat age-dependent contralateral axonal sprouting following unilateral lesion of magnocellular neurons in the supraoptic nucleus. To understand the changes in the transcriptome that underlies this phenomenon, we performed RNA-seq and functional analysis of the rat supraoptic nucleus to determine changes in gene expression with age. Comparative gene expression of the supraoptic nucleus was performed on two age groups, 35 days and 125 days old. Each group consisted of 4 biological replicates. For each biological replicate, the supraoptic nuclei of 4 rats were pooled.
