The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) is being threat to many economists because of its large-scale occupation of workplaces. Penetration of AI into all sectors is prompting economists and policymakers to rethink capitalism’s reliance on human labor. The current generation of AI is capable of performing complex tasks, threating wide range of white-collar professions. This article examines consequences of technological unemployment within a capitalism framework. This analysis examines job displacement, its economic and social impact, global inequality and explores possible solutions.
