This series comprise the Rate books of the Tamworth Rural Lands Protection Board.Under the Pastures Protection Act of 1902 (Act No.111, 1902) and subsequent legislation, each Board was required to collect rates upon sheep and large stock. These Rate books generally identified the property and person rated and includes details of the amounts due, amounts paid, and date of payment. These records were required to be presented for inspection when required.
