资源简介:
In March 1998, St. Louis District personnel visited the New Jersey State Museum and the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office in Trenton, and the New Jersey Army National Guard (NJARNG) Headquarters in Lawrenceville to review and document archaeological and historic buildings survey work conducted on Army National Guard facilities in the state. This document reports the history of cultural investigations on federally owned or federally supported NJARNG facilities, lists historic buildings recorded within facility boundaries, discusses historic contexts and predictive models, and provides a list of Native American tribes that may be culturally affiliated with archaeological collections recovered from NJARNG facilities. At the time of this writing, only one standing structure, located on New Jersey National Guard Training Center, had been determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, based on a 1982 survey. An architectural survey in early 1998 included National Register eligibility determinations for Army Aviation Support Facility, Bordentown Combined Support Maintenance Shop, Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, New Jersey National Guard Training Center, and West Orange Combined Support Maintenance Shop, but the results were not available at this writing. To date, no archaeological sites have been recorded at any of the aforementioned facilities.
