The aim of this project is to redesign the feline orthopedic plate by using topology optimization technique to reduce its weight with the maximum stiffness to weight ratio. This study integrated a measure of the weight, stress, strain, displacement and factor of safety of the reference plate and each design after reducing weight (50, 60 and 70 percentage weight reducing). Each plate design will receive the weight of 10 kilograms according to the obese cat from cat sizing chart. For the methodology of this project will be divided into two parts: 1. Finding reduced weight designs 2. Measuring for static study. In the first part, we received three new weight reducing design (23.71, 35.37 and 37.81 percentage weight reducing). In the second part, the result concluded that the 23.71 percentages weight reducing case with support between holes had been the best design according the value of the static study and the design geometry that does no harm for nearby tissue.
