资源简介:
Data set for IJERPH article - "The effects of age and body fat content on post-downhill run recovery following whole body cryotherapy" Outcome measures include muscle torque (Nm), muscle soreness (% on visual analogue scale), blood creatine kinase (fingerstick samples), tympanic temperature (Braun thermoscan), skin temperature (Flir thermal imaging cameras), wellbeing (% on visual analogue scale). Measures were taken before and after 30 minute downhill run. Sample size of 41 participants (26 for Whole body cryotherapy (WBC) and 15 for Control (CON)). WBC split into Young (YNG, age<40, n=13) and Old (OLD, age>45, n=10) and highfat (>20%, n=10) and lowfat (<15%, n=8). SPSS Version 26 was used to perform statistical analysis. Few cells missing data: Participant data tab H35-L35 skinfolds: Participant (AH) had bodyfat percentage measured by BodPod air displacement plethysmograph. Therefore, skinfold assessment was not necessary. Tympanic temperature tab: F24-H24: Issues with Braun thermoscan battery so data not available for participant SA Skin temperature tab: O10-Q10: Participant (AH) was researcher, therefore it was not possible to take thermal images from 3.0 metres. Full details of study, equipment and procedures are available on the open access article.
