A rapid, multi-taxon biodiversity survey of the Makira Forest Protected Area, Madagascar

This study was completed as part of the broader “Search for Lost and Undescribed Species: A rapid, multi-taxon biodiversity inventory of Makira Natural Park, Madagascar,” conducted from August 29th to September 9th, 2023. This study aims to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of eDNA metabarcoding and conventional surveys for assessing multi-taxa vertebrate biodiversity in a tropical rainforest, while identifying methodological limitations and opportunities to improve future biodiversity inventories.
