Palynomorph and dinocyst assemblages, water column and sediment properties, and dinocyst-based proxies along the Baltic Sea-North Sea-Atlantic transect

The dataset includes raw water column and sediment data from 37 surface sediments across the Baltic Sea to Atlantic Ocean transect, though the Norwegian Trench. This aim of the data is to compare palynomorph and dinocyst assemblages with water column and sediment properties to evaluate which dinocyst-based proxy best reflects modern marine primary productivity in the Baltic Sea, North Sea and Atlantic Ocean. The study is part of the North Sea-Atlantic Exchange (NoSE) project. Five files are listed: station information, environmental data (Supplementary Data 1), sediment properties (Supplementary Data 2), raw palynomorph and dinoflagellate cyst counts (Supplementary Data 3), and palynomorph and dinoflagellate cyst processed data (Supplementary Data 4).
