Responses of soil fungal community to artificial revegetation of an extremely acidic Cu mine tailings pond

In this study, we aimed to reveal how soil fungal community of mine tailings ponds responds to artificial revegetation by taking advantage of 4000 m2 of vegetation re-established on an extremely acidic (pH 2.5) Cu mine tailings pond. To that end, the fungal communities in amended layer of the reclaimed tailings (ALRT), unamended layer of the reclaimed tailings (ULRT) and the unreclaimed tailings (UT) were characterized using high-throughput sequencing.
