资源简介:
Background: Seroprevalence studies became an important research method for estimating the extent of SARS-CoV-2 exposure across Canada. The Cadham Provincial Laboratory (CPL) established the Manitoba COVID Seroprevalence Study to evaluate the presence of COVID-19 antibodies across the province.
Aims of the CITF-funded study: The study aimed to measure the seroprevalence of COVID-19 antibodies across Manitoba by age, sex, and regional health authority (RHA). It also aimed to identify the risk factors categorized by age, gender, and region to determine the proportion of the population susceptible to COVID-19 and improve case fatality ratio estimates.
Methods: This repeat cross-sectional study analyzed blood samples from individuals whose specimens were collected for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections and prenatal serological testing at the CPL. From 2020 to 2023, 200 samples from each age category (1-9, 10-19, 20-39, 40-59, and 60+) were analyzed from individuals across the six RHAs in Manitoba
Contributed dataset contents: The dataset contains a total of 21,940 participants and all participants gave one serology sample between March 2020 and March 2023. Variables include data in the following areas of information: age, sex, regional health authority (RHA), SARS-CoV-2 serology and vaccination. Dataset includes 572 participants with missing collection date. 16,609 participants (75%) have linked COVID-19 vaccination data, and 10,584 participants (64%) gave serology data after getting vaccinated (retrospective).
