Supplementary material for: Late Neolithic barley cultivation practices at pile-dwelling sites in Slovenia
收藏资源简介:
Electronic supplementary material (ESM) for paper "Late Neolithic barley cultivation practices at pile-dwelling sites in Slovenia" The paper investigates agricultural practices of 4th-millennium BCE pile-dwelling communities in the Ljubljansko barje region by analyzing stable carbon (δ13C) and nitrogen (δ15N) isotopes in charred barley grains. The results suggest that barley was cultivated in soils enriched with nitrogen, likely through moderate manuring. The study represents the first stable isotope analysis of plant remains in Slovenia and provides new insights into early farming strategies in the region. Barley_cultivation_Supplementary_data contains: - ESM1: Plan of the site of Stare gmajne (SG) - ESM2: photographs of barley grains - ESM3: FTIR data, FTIR spectra plots, R script - ESM4: Information on calibration and measurement uncertainty - ESM5: isotope analysis results - ESM6: Exploratory scatterplots of elemental composition and stable isotope ratios
