"Motivated with exercise" A phenomenological study on perspectives and experience of physiotherapy rehabilitation among patients with knee osteoarthritis

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative disease cause global burden of disability. So, a qualitative study conducted on patients with knee OA about their views on what they perceived as knee OA and physiotherapy rehabilitation, lived experience of knee OA, and the factors which helps and hinders their physiotherapy rehabilitation. Radiographically diagnosed patients with knee OA aged between 40 years and 90 years were included. A semi-structured interviews were conducted individually according to their feasibility followed by purposive sampling technique. Thematic analysis was conducted for each Kellgren and Lawrence Grades 1-4 by following rigor methods. Four themes, and multiple subthemes were emerged. The study concluded that patients with knee OA could be treated with patient-centered physiotherapy care.
