All the birds in my survey cover sightings over a long interval (although most photos are of one’s observed over the last 12 months and photograohed with my catchment group’s DSLR camera). Therefore most dates are from the photo metadata, and observations without accompanying photos are dated from diary entries. The sighting format field was a bit limited, as one bird was only acoustically observed and not visually seen (Lesser Sooty Owl) so I ticked “Sound” as my medium, although I suspect that may be supposed to refer only to an actual sound recording – which I don’t have for that entry).
