Genome sequencing project of American Shorthair cat. Felis catus strain:American Shorthair

The domestic cat (Felis catus) is one of the most popular companion animals in the world. Modern cat breeds have variations in traits such as coat color, tail length and ear shape as well as genetic diseases. In this project, a high quality chromosome-scale assembly of American Shorthair breed is established, aiming to uncover the genetic effects on the disease and traits of cats deeper.
