Psychological perspective on social involvement

The article presents psychological definition of social involvement, the concept distinguished from psychological involvement. Possible terminological problems that can arise from English equivalents of the term have been discussed. The article also discusses psychological determinants of social involvement and lays out the author’s model - the Sequential Model of Social Involvement - which is a model of helping behavior. The model may serve as a theoretical framework for empirical studies that will test its validity. peerReviewed publishedVersion
