Biodegradable plastics market is increasing these last decades, and anaerobic digestion has to be investigated as a potential end-of-life scenario. For this purpose, mesophilic (38 celsius degree) and thermophilic (58 celsius degree) anaerobic digestion tests on three biodegradable plastic coffee capsules (Beanarella, Launay or Tintoretto) and spent coffee (control) were compared by their methane production and the active microbial communities involved in the process.
