THE ROLE OF DIALOGUE IN A LITERARY TEXT AND THE PROBLEMS OF TRANSLATING IT

This thesis examines the role of dialogue in literary texts, as well as the main challenges encountered in their translation. It analyzes the characteristics of dialogic speech, its functions in literary works, and the methods of rendering it in literary translation. It also examines the main translation techniques used to convey dialogic speech, including equivalent translation, adaptation, compensation, and various types of translation transformations.
