Students' attitudes towards the use of GenAI in developing academic skills: A survey report

This dataset contains: Aggregated data derived from responses to a self-constructed questionnaire investigating students’ attitudes towards the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in developing academic skills; The questionnaire in Polish and its English translation; The final survey report in Polish and in English. About the study Conducted at a large public university in Poland, this study investigated students’ attitudes towards the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in the context of their studies, with a particular focus on academic writing. The survey examined students’ practices related to GenAI use (such as tools used, purposes, and ways of working with AI-generated text) and perceived effects, motivations, disincentives, ethical assessments, and opinions regarding the university guidelines on the use of GenAI. About the questionnaire The questionnaire was created in Google Forms and distributed in Polish via email in April and May 2026. It consisted of 22 items, including an open-ended comments section. A total of 180 completed questionnaires were received, which corresponds to a response rate of approximately 17%. One response was excluded. This study received no external funding.
