Identification plates of the butterflies of the Neusiedler See-area

The European Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (ebMS) aims to collect data on butterflies across Europe through monitoring in order to promote their protection. With the help of volunteers, it is observed and counted according to defined methods. The present pictorial panels are intended to assist in monitoring according to the methods of the ebMS and facilitate the determination of the butterflies of the Neusiedler See area. The national park Neusiedler See — Seewinkel, the World Heritage Nature Park Neusiedler See — Leithagebirge and the biological station Neusiedler See have together set themselves the goal of establishing and coordinating butterfly monitoring in the area around Lake Neusiedler. This identification assistance was prepared with the participation of BCE and ebMS and was financed by DG Environment (European Commission) under the SPRING service contract.
