Street Centreline

The City is responsible for building and maintaining our roads, sidewalks and public spaces, managing how city streets are used, and creating land use and urban design policies. The street centerline network includes linear street objects that for the most part reflect the approximate center of the dedicated street right-of-way. This representation of the street centrelines supports address geocoding and mapping. It also serves as a source for public works and other agencies that are responsible for the active management of the street network. The displayed street centrelines are merely generic centrelines; their visual placement is not meant to convey the actual centreline of the physical roadway. This data is updated frequently in the normal course of business, however priorities and resources determine how fast a change in reality is reflected in the database.
