VPRS 15256 Contract Register

Section 455, Part XVI of the Local Government Act 1915 allowed municipal councils to enter into contracts for the purposes of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contracts to be in writing. The register was maintained to document particulars of each contract . Some volumes within the series predate the legislation.(Contract Registers are designated for permanent retention in PROS 98/01 Local Government Records General Disposal Authority Version 2002 (Class 10.1.4).
