The Foodborne Bacterial Pathogens Collection is comprised of isolates associated with CSIRO Food Safety research. Shiga toxin producing Escherichia coli (STEC), Salmonella and Campylobacter are zoonotic pathogens naturally associated with food animals. Research knowledge of foodborne pathogen epidemiology, ecology, phylogenetics and virulence potential is essential for managing food safety.
