资源简介:
Weevils are the most diverse animal family. Their remarkable diversity is thought to be driven by co-evolution with their host plants, as many species of weevil are highly specialized for a few closely related (or even a single) host plant species. To begin exploring the genetic basis of host-plant specialization in weevils, we present draft genome assemblies for two sister species of weevil (Triochobaris mucorea and T. compacta) taht differ with respect to their host plant range: T. mucorea feeds on a wide range of plants in the nightshade family (Solanaceae) whereas T. compacta is a monophagous specialist of Datura wrightii in the southwest USA.
