C. elegans is a model organism that has been used extensively since its establishment by Sydney Brenner in 1974. In this study, we have sequenced 12 wild isolates of C. elegans using the short-reading sequencing technology from Illumina. These data may be used to improve whole-genome assemblies and to call variants.
