HTLV-1 complete genome
收藏资源简介:
Human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1) is the causative agent of adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATL) and is linked to HTLV-1-associated myelopathy-tropical spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP). While most HTLV-1-infected individuals remain asymptomatic, a small percentage develop these diseases. Globally, 10-20 million people are infected, with cases in Argentina primarily documented in the northeastern provinces near Bolivia and Paraguay. This study analyzed nine complete HTLV-1 genomes from symptomatic and asymptomatic patients using next-generation sequencing (NGS). For the first time, complete HTLV-1 genome sequences from Argentina were obtained, enhancing the understanding of the virus's genetic variability and integration in the human genome.
