CO2 water concentration and evasion rates derived k600 values and environmental variables in Amazon flooded forests, Brazil.

Aquatic habitats in the lowland Amazon emit large quantities of carbon dioxide (CO2). However, information is sparse on CO2 fluxes from seasonally flooded forests, that constitute 80% of the surface area of aquatic environments in the lowland Amazon. We provide the first multi-year measurements of CO2 exchanges within flooded forests of the central Amazon basin. Our approach combines the measurement of dissolved CO2 concentrations and fluxes between the water and atmosphere with environmental and ecological data.
