Carrier vesicles are around 100nm in diameter. They can carpet the cytopharyngeal ribbons with a layer of vesicles, several vesicles wide, as shown in this micrograph. As seen here the ribbons come to lie close to the source of many of these carrier vesicles that arise from early endosomes under the quadrulus. TEM taken on 5/16/73 by R.
