Vehicle Operating Speed on Urban Arterial Roadways (TTI-01-04)

Project Description: Investigating the relationship between vehicle operating speed and roadway characteristics, especially number of bicyclists. Data collected in San Diego in 2017 using on-road tubes (vehicle counts and speed) and from San Diego Regional Bike and Pedestrian Counter Network (bicyclist counts). The research team collected geometric variables using aerial photographs and used the street view function to obtain the posted speed limit. Data Scope: Dataset includes speed (vehicles) and volume (vehicle and bicycle) data in 15-minute bins for 15 sites. The dataset also includes the street characteristics for the sites. Table 1 lists the number of rows of data per site. Each site includes two weeks of data except site 6 which only includes one week of data.
