Shoreline position and emerged/submerged beach profiles at Castell beach (2019–2022) [Dataset]

In this study, repeated topographic and bathymetric surveys were conducted to characterise shoreline position and beach morphology at Castell Beach (Catalonia, Spain) between 2019 and 2022. Six RTK-GNSS field campaigns were carried out to measure shoreline position and emerged beach topography, complemented by three echo-sounder bathymetric surveys to characterise the submerged beach. RTK-GNSS data were collected across the subaerial beach and swash zone, while single-beam and multibeam echo-sounder measurements were used to measure the shoreface. The resulting dataset includes shoreline positions and representative emerged and submerged beach profiles, which can be used to analyse coastal morphological changes. The data were used to calculate volume variations and shoreline displacements following two extreme storm events, as well as the subsequent recovery
