Online adults experiencing cyber crime 2023, by type

As of January 2023, four in ten surveyed adults worldwide said they had experienced a computer or a mobile device virus. Those encountering mobile or SMS scams were 35 percent, while 30 percent stated experiencing a phishing scam. Furthermore, around a quarter of respondents had experienced an extortion e-mail scam.
