Kagome materials have emerged as an exciting platform for exploring strongly correlated electronic phenomena, topological phases, and unconventional charge ordering. While their average crystal structure is well understood, the subtle details of local atomic ordering, which play a crucial role in charge density wave (CDW) formation and other emergent phenomena, remain largely unexplored. In this study, we aim to investigate the evolution of atomic ordering in a series of isomorphic kagome compounds—YbCo6Ge6, YbFe6Ge6, ScNi6Ge6, and Ca-doped ScNi6Ge6—by employing high-resolution single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction at BM01 (ESRF).
