The strain JSM 21308 was a haolophilic, siderophore-producing, Gram positive rod, isolated from a mangrove forest soil sample collected from the Wenchang City in Hainan, China. To accurately determine the phylogenetic position, the evolutionary relationship of relative strains was primarily analysed based on 16S rRNA gene sequences, and its exact systematic position was investigated by comparative genomics analysis based on whole-genome sequences, including comparisons of G+C content, ANI, and dDDH values, as well as phylogenomic analysis. To elucidate the secondary metabolic potential of strain JSM 21308, the rapid identification, annotation and analysis of secondary metabolite biosynthesis gene clusters in the genome were performed by means of the antiSMASH online server.
