Occupational Injuries and Infection Risk Among Senior Medical Students: A Four-Year Retrospective Study

The primary objective of this study is to examine the significant yet inadequately documented issue of occupational injuries that affect medical students. This study specifically investigates the frequency, characteristics, and subsequent risks of infection linked to these injuries among senior students enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine at Uludağ University over a forty-year period. The study's findings highlight a notable prevalence of injuries, particularly in environments with elevated risk factors, such as the emergency department. The results of this study underscore the critical need for enhanced education, heightened consciousness, and proactive measures to tackle occupational risks and bloodborne illnesses.
