In this study we sequenced the genome of the Colletotrichum tofieldiae strain CBS 168.49 isolated from Lupinus polyphyllus.Through subsequent genome and transcriptome comparisons of different C. tofieldiae strains with a closely related pathogenic Colletotrichum species, we were searching for genomic signatures associated with the two different lifestyles (mutualistic vs. pathogenic) and investigating their evolutionary relationship.
