LEXICOGRAPHIC REPRESENTATION OF SPECIALIZED TERMINOLOGY IN ELECTRONIC DICTIONARIES

This article examines the lexicographic representation of specialized terminology in electronic dictionaries from a linguistic and functional perspective. The study focuses on how digital lexicographic resources handle terminological units belonging to different fields of knowledge, including linguistics, technology, education, and scientific discourse. Particular attention is given to structural organization, semantic description, contextual illustration, and user-oriented accessibility of terminological entries. The research employs descriptive, comparative, and functional analysis methods to investigate how electronic dictionaries differ from traditional printed lexicographic sources in presenting specialized terminology. The findings reveal that electronic dictionaries provide enhanced possibilities for dynamic updating, multimedia integration, and contextual expansion of terminological meaning. However, certain limitations remain, particularly in the standardization of definitions and consistency of terminological equivalence. The study concludes that electronic lexicography plays a crucial role in modern terminology management, contributing to the development of more flexible and user-adaptive linguistic resources.
