Agroathelia rolfsii strain:CCF1 Genome sequencing

The study goals of this research were centered on unraveling the genetic architecture of Agroathelia rolfsii, a root rot agent threatening industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) cultivation. Hemp is a crucial industrial crop valued throughout the world for its fibers and seeds. Among the plethora of pathogens that pose a serious threat to this crop, A. rolfsii is one of the most recognized in the southern temperate zones and tropics. Since this pathogen significant yield losses in agriculture, understanding its genetic makeup is crucial for devising effective disease control strategies. The relevance of this study lies in its contribution to the discovery of potentially pathogenesis related genes for future functional genomics studies, the development of new agrochemicals and targeted therapeutic approaches tailored to combat the specific challenges posed by A. rolfsii in hemp cultivation.
