Environmental transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) during a late-winter /spring seasonal transition. Sampling was conducted in the vicinity of Palmer Station (United States Antarctic Program) (64.7742° S, 64.0531° W), Anvers Island, Antarctica from 9 Aug to 21 Nov 2011. Samples were collected at station E (64.8150° S -64.0405° W) established by the Palmer Long Term Ecological Research Program (PalLTER) (Waters and Smith 1992).
