Microalgae counts were calculated using the haematocrit method as well as spectrophotometric measurements of the absorbance values of microalgae and their growth curves were calculated using Excel. The bacterial content of each group of microalgae was calculated using the dilution smear plate method. Differences in the number of microalgae and differences in the number of bacteria in each group were analysed using spss20.
