Alkyne-based synthetic methodology

Addition and cycloaddition reactions of alkynes have become the important and green synthetic methods for the synthesis of functionalized alkenes, hetero-/carbocyclic compounds and complex molecular skeletons due to their controllable and predictable stereo- and/or regioselectivity with high-atom utilization. This personal account summarizes the applications of alkynes for developing the synthetic methodologies published by author and in our group, focusing on the new addition and cycloaddition reactions with the examples on the design and preparation of natural products, drugs and organic optoelectronic materials based on the developed synthetic methods.
